CLASSES
Each of us is a creative vessel waiting to burst forth in song and dance from a deep stillness and silence within.
Indian classical art forms are forms of yoga intended to be an inherently meditative experience, taking us closer to our true Self.
REGULAR CLASSES
YOGA
Start your day connecting to yourself. Through awareness of breath, we attempt to hold both dynamism and stillness, create space within and bring together body, mind and spirit.
(Stay back for a meditation session if you would like.)
You can drop-in to try a class and if it feels right, sign up on a monthly basis.
Schedule:
Hatha Yoga 7-8am (Mon, Wed, Fri)
Teacher: Sudha Suthanthiram
MEDITATION
Start your day connecting with your highest Self. Join us after yoga or come in just for the meditation. We sit together in silence for 45 minutes—come on time but leave anytime. Depending on the teacher, we may also explore meditation with music, movement, mantras mudras, etc.
Schedule:
Meditation 8:30-9:15am (Mon, Wed, Fri)
Facilitator: Varies
WORKSHOPS & RETREATS
MUSIC
DHRUPAD
A form of music designed to bring the mind to a peaceful, meditative state. It’s an ancient science of sound and music that aims to develop human consciousness for both listeners and performers.
Teacher: Niloy Ahsan
MONTHLY RETREAT (check Calendar or Instagram page @sunlitpathcommunity for next dates)
EMBODIED VOICEWORK
Find safety and pleasure in your voice. This class is for everyone: whether you have never explored your voice, or you already use it to sing or to act. Through awareness and sensory practices, though self-massage, and with playfulness, we will connect with our voices and our whole selves.
Teacher: Shalini Sekhar
MOVEMENT
BHARATANATYAM
One of India’s oldest surviving forms of classical dance. It has evolved greatly over the years and withstood the test of time. The modern world is a new environment for this ancient art form. Our intention is to create an environment that inspires us to once again reach the inner intensity and spirituality essential to this art that took birth with a sage.
Teachers: Viraja & Shyamjit Kiran Thaniya Kanaka Mahalakshmi S
SACRED ART
YANTRAS
Yantra literally means “instrument”. It is a geometric design acting as a highly efficient tool for contemplation, concentration and meditation. They serve as centering devices or as symbolic compositions of the energy pattern of a deity as seen by Tantric seers in their vision.
Making Yantras connects us to the wisdom and power of the Goddess and the Divine Feminine using the methodology as it was practised and revered in ancient times. We are then able to harness this in our present circumstances and life paths to evolve, transform and empower.
